Welcome to the second edition of AILA FRESH news – this edition is brought to you by AILA FRESH NSW. Big thanks to wAILA FRESH for presenting our very first e-news!

Once again, thank you to our Corporate Partner Cabot’s & Intergrain for their ongoing generous support. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a very exciting design competition curated by our partners which will be announced shortly. There are some very exciting prizes up for grabs and the chance to partner up with industry experts for some invaluable experience – stay tuned.

The FRESH National team has been working hard to bring you welcome packs for new students and grads, which have been rolled out across the states. NSW FRESH crashed O week to meet and greet with new students, delivering over a hundred packs across the University of New South Wales and University of Technology Sydney. VIC has most recently delivered their bags to their new students last month. We are also working towards ‘speed dating’ events for each state for students, grads and professionals to mingle in the upcoming months, and some other exciting initiatives ahead of the next Festival of Landscape Architecture ‘This Public Life’ in Melbourne this October.

NSW has had a massive start to 2015, with our first FRESH Friday event in January, delivering the FRESH welcome packs to students at the end of February, and a logo reDESIGN completion to update our NSW AILA FRESH logo. To unveil our new logo, we hosted a harbour cruise event which took in significant Landscape Projects along Sydney Harbour from the water. We were lucky enough to have the designers and key players of these projects give presentations about the work, describing the challenges and triumphs of working in a harbourside location. This event was open to all AILA members and friends and provided a great opportunity for students and professionals to mix in a fun forum for a Friday afternoon. Andreasens Green – NSW state sponsor for AILA FRESH, were very generous in donating the prize of an iPad mini for our logo redesign competition.

The rest of 2015 is looking to be jam-packed for NSW, with more Fresh Fridays, a mentoring program, Trivia night, Portfolio Workshops, Studio Tours and the Christmas party all in the calendar. It’s a good time to be an AILA FRESH member in NSW!

As always, your FRESH committees are seeking your feedback! If there is an initiative that you would like FRESH to promote or anything that we can help you with, get in touch with your state’s representative. FRESH is very active across social media so check out your state’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or blog, and watch your inbox for FRESH emails to keep up to date.

There’s always events happening so come along to your states next event to find out what FRESH is all about, meet like minded people and maybe even learn something as an added bonus!
