NT President's Message - 15 February 2016

Welcome to 2016, it looks like an exciting year ahead.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to developing our NT Strategy Document. This has been submitted to National Council and will provide guidance for us how on best represent our local membership where our precious energy is focussed moving forward.

Last year saw the announcement of the My Park Rules finalists with Centralian Senior College (NT) has made it through as the NT winner. Two local practices The Landscape Studio and CLOUSTON Associates will be working with the school to prepare concept designs for submission on the 31st March. We wish them good luck and thank you for help.

Our next chapter meeting will be held in mid-February and a poll will be out early next month to confirm the best time for those who would like to take part.

NT President's Message - 14 September 2015

‘The date has been set for our NT strategy workshop on 23rd of September at 9am ACST. Working with AILA CEO Shahana McKenzie this workshop aims to determine the aims and objectives of the local chapter that marry in with the new national strategy.

AILA has recently launched a work experience directory which provides high school students with the opportunity to search for work experience within landscape architecture firms. The directory allows students, career advisors and parents to search by location or practice name and provides them with contact details for all of the practices offering opportunities. If your practice currently offers work experience opportunities for high school students or would be interested in doing so please click here for more information. If you have any questions please contact the national office on 02 6248 9970 or [email protected]

NT President's Message - 24 November 2014

2014 has been an exciting year for AILA Members and with some great initiatives from AILA National, the new website up and running and an inspiring and interactive inaugural Festival of Landscape Architecture, we are looking forward to an action packed 2015.

There are currently many working groups nationwide looking at everything from improving CPD opportunities to Policy framework and our Awards programs. This will bring greater opportunities for the Top End LA’s to be a part of the Institute at all levels so please get involved if you find something that is for you. Above all the exciting work being done will lead to greater advocacy for Landscape Architecture as a profession and at a time when developing the North is again a top priority, AILA NT will be championing for exceptional planning and design outcomes.
