This tour will start at the Mt Coot-tha summit, taking in the views, history and future of Brisbane. Attendees with then make their way down the Mt Coot-tha spotted gum walking trail to the Botanical Gardens. There will be plenty of free time to explore the Indigenous species and other sections within the Botanical gardens and local landscape architect, Philip Kleinschmidt will talk on the Queensland Conservation Garden; an expansion of the Botanical Gardens as part of the legacy way project. Christie will provide a lunch with local indigenous foods at the Gardens.
DAY: Thursday 13th October TIME: Bus will depart Southbank at 7:30am – (please arrive by 7:15am) and arrive back at approx 2:00pm. COST: Free and only available to Festival attendees. INCLUSIONS :Bus, snack and lunch.
Requirements: Moderate fitness level is required for the walk through the Spotted Gum downhill trail (approx 45mins). Participants should wear appropriate walking shoes (hiking shoes recommended) and bring hat, sunscreen and water.
