Currently Australia is experiencing a significant skills shortage, particularly in building new infrastructure, including landscape architects. As a result, the Australian Government is prioritising skilled migration in range of sectors including those responsible for building infrastructure. As part of that, the Department has launched an international advertising campaign to attract more skilled migrants to Australia, including setting up a new stand-alone website called Smart Move Australia, which includes links to the Department’s main website:
Australia is the smart move for skilled workers | Smart Move Australia
In addition to the independent points tested visas promoted in this website, the Department also has a range of employer sponsored visas, including temporary, permanent, and regional. Hear from Business Industry and Regional Outreach officers of the Department of Home Affairs as they discuss these skilled migration pathways, including costs, what is involved in obtaining accredited sponsorship (and therefore priority processing), Sponsorship Obligations, Skilling Australians Fund Levy, Labour Market Testing and exemptions, paying Annual Market Salary Rates, obtaining Skills Assessments and exemptions, what is involved in transitioning from a temporary to a permanent visa, and what it means when a visa holder becomes a permanent resident.
