The much anticipated: Valley Heart Competition - Design Charette

Join us for a design charrette to kick start the Valley Heart Design Competition. The Competition, open to landscape architecture students and graduates, will push our creative limits and imagine solutions that will catapult a growing inner city suburb into a new era of liveability. The evening will run as a workshop where you’ll be guided through activities aimed at getting your brain cogs turning and generating some fresh ideas for a beloved Brisbane destination.

“Brisbane, with the strongest population growth of all Australian capital cities last year, is projected to grow from 2,651,000 million to 3,081,800 people between 2022 and 2032. This population growth and densification poses questions to the capacity of existing parks to meet the needs of Brisbane as a contemporary ‘new-world-city’.

Within the Fortitude Valley a local community organisation (Strawberry Fields) is asking these questions and seeking to develop strategies that respond to the city’s population growth and define legacy solutions for the future of the Fortitude Valley’s public realm.”
