FEDERATION SQUARE DIGITAL SCREEN ENTRIES OPEN

SUBMISSIONS CLOSE 1 SEPTEMBER

We invite practitioners, members and students to submit video material to show on Federation Square's digital screen as part of the 2019 International Festival of Landscape Architecture. The digital screen will be available for 24 hours on Saturday 12th October and offers an exceptional opportunity to show case landscape architecture to the broader public. INDUSTRY TOUR: The PlaySpace Tour

Come on board for this tour to explore some fantastic playspaces around Melbourne`s suburban areas.  Learn more about the benefits of healthy and natural playgrounds for the urban environment and experience award-winning landscape architecture design projects.  This tour gives you the opportunity to meet with the landscape architects and industry experts and learn more about the strategic implementation of designing the playgrounds. Join us on this tour to connect with your colleagues and industry professionals. The tour bus will leave Federation Square at 10 am and return by 4 pm. Register here

INDUSTRY TOUR: Mornington Peninsula Tour

THURSDAY 10 OCTOBER

This tour will pick you up at 10 am from the Federation Square to take on a comfortable journey to explore the Victoria`s stunning Mornington Peninsula, located south-east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is surrounded by Port Phillip to the west, Western Port to the east and Bass Strait to the south and is connected to the mainland in the north. Geographically, the peninsula begins its protrusion from the mainland in the area between Pearcedale and an area south of Frankston. The tour will feature various project sights along the way and include lunch at Petit Tracteur cafe before exploring some more sights of Mornington Peninsula. INDUSTRY TOUR: Timber Talk with Wood Solutions

Meet at Federation Square

Come and join the industry leader in wood and timber education, Wood Solutions for an afternoon tour to learn more from the industry experts on wood and Timber excellence production.
On this journey Wood Solutions will take you to an excellent timber facility, David’s Timber to enhance the knowledge of Timber production and showcasing the treatment process, after a nice lunch you will be shown through their treatment facilities and get an understanding of options and products treated with CCA, MicroPro and LOSP for residential, commercial, government, parks and gardens as well as offering “custom treatment” to industry.After finishing at the facility, the tour will take you to Tract Consultants for another educational adventure showcasing a case study w followed by some drinks on the beautiful timber terrace overlooking the Yarra River. Start your Festival Saturday with a delicious breakfast courtesy of Lark Industries, followed by a presentations from ASPECT studios detailing the award-winning Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal Project.
The Caulfield to Dandenong project saw the removal of nine problematic crossings, replacing them with five elevated railway stations, new open space and shared pedestrian and cyclist pathways.
Come and enjoy breakfast while you learn and network with like-minded industry experts from ASPECT Studios and Lark Industries.

THE FUTURE PARK INTERNATIONAL IDEAS EXHIBITION

7 OCTOBER- 31 OCTOBER, UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE 
From 8am-6pm Weekdays + 11am - 3pm on Sunday 13 October

Shortlisted competition   Shortlisted competitor entries will be on public  public exhibition in the Dulux Gallery at the Melbourne School of Design (University of Melbourne) from 8am-6pm during weekdays.  The Exhibition will also be open from 11am - 3pm on Sunday 13 October. 

2019 FELLOWS DINNER

AILA Fellows are invited to connect at the AILA Fellows Dinner with WE-EF LIGHTING and Street Furniture Australia. Following the success of last year's event, this year will again be a dinner format to allow more time for conversation following the conclusion of Day Two of the conference. Fringe Event–Walking Tour with Melbourne Architours

Sunday 13 OCTOBER 2019

Come join Melbourne Architours as we explore promenades, squares and a fine piece of ‘post-apocalyptic baroque’ architecture, among other critical constructions of the 1990s. 

Melbourne Architours are a group of local Melburnians who work, live and breathe design in this city. Keen to share their knowledge and generate discussion about the built environment, they invite you on a walking tour with them to learn about Melbourne’s evolution through its building fabric.

THE FUTURE PARK DESIGN FORUM

MONDAY 14 OCTOBER 2019

This ‘academic’ recovery day (12.30 -5.30pm) allows academics, PhD students  and interested practitioners to reflect further on conference discussion and hear more from featured speakers including Julia Czerniak, Jacky Bowring and the creative directors. An abstract call for further presentations will be announced in August. This event will be  limited to 60 people

THE FUTURE PARK COMPETITION PUBLIC LECTURE

MONDAY 14 OCTOBER
This public lecture will provide the opportunity for other design disciplines and the broader community to hear presentations from competition winners, along with critical overviews from competition jury panellists Julia Czerniak,  Jacky Bowring and Jill Garner.
