Celebrate 2021 with a Regional Salon and Christmas drinks in Newcastle, at the stunning Merewether Surfhouse, overlooking at the beach.
This face to face event will host a variety of guest speakers, including:
- Welcome to Country by Andrew Smith, CEO of the Worimi LALC followed by a presentation on the Worimi Green Team.
The Worimi Green Team is a not-for-profit Aboriginal community based organisatin commiteed to the regeneration and rehabilitation of natural environments and urban-based envirornmental education. The Green team has been an active participant in numerous significant regional and local land management projects including dune stabilistaion and the bush regeneration and rehabilitation of wetlands.
Worimi Green team is a combination of specialist employees, NRM orperators, foelds trainees and partners i.e. botanist, horticulturalist which given the diversity in know;edge, skill base and experience available to the Worimi Green team, make them well versed in a range of specialist landscape and natural resource management services, providing the expeience and capcity to coordinate both small and large-scale projects.
- 'Planting with Purpose' by Jon Hazelwood (HASSELL)
Jon is one of HASSELL's most experienced public realm and Landscape Architecture professionals. Based in the Sydney studio, John is also a prolific writer, regularly sharing his insights on how great design, planting design and access to nature enriches our lives.
Over the past 20 years, Jon has guided projects from the broad, strategic thinking phase through to detailed resolution and successful delivery. Jon was instrumental in establishing HASSELL in the UK, leading award-winning projects including the revitalising of Croydon high street in London.
