LATITUDE | Designing inclusive and welcoming public spaces

Join Sarah Reilly, Jen Guice and Abinaya Rajavelu from Cred Consulting for the latest LATITUDE session on Designing inclusive and welcoming public spaces.

Session description

Public spaces are the foundation of liveable communities. When public spaces are inclusive they make our local neighbourhoods more welcoming and connected. Inclusive public spaces contribute to thriving local economies. They are at the heart of everyday life. But while they can benefit us all, they are not always accessible to everyone.

Cred Consulting will present their research and practical recommendations for creating inclusive public spaces for everyone, that will touch on:
the benefits of inclusive public spaces,
the barriers to using public space experienced by different groups in the community,
the stages to create inclusive public spaces: from identifying needs to designing to evaluating success

We will share a real-life case study example where you will hear about a challenge around inclusion in a public space, the research approach, the design solutions developed based on the research, and the impact of the interventions. There will be time for Q & A and a practical activity for participants.
