It is officially award season!
We kicked off award season with an outstanding Awards Reveal held last week online. We saw a substantial number of entries this year, 91!  The Jury really will have it tough to choose the winner as there are so many incredible projects.
As a group everyone should be really proud to have so many wonderful projects on showcase, the projects are all really diverse and it demonstrates the incredible work we as Landscape Architects are doing around the state and the impact we are having on people’s lives and the environment.
The Award ceremony will be help IN PERSON this year at the incredible View by Sydney on Thursday 9th June, make sure you and your team grab your tickets for a night of mingling, cocktails and laughs with your peers.
Tickets are available here
Following on from the Casual Catch up we held with P.L.A.N , I have included some further details for any members who would like to hear more- head over to the  Facebook Page – share your story and listen to the monthly podcast where PLAN member Kelsie Davies speaks to individual PLAN Committee Members (myself included) as well as other parents in the industry.
If you have a topic that you would like the NSW Executive to delve into in their Casual Catchups send us a message at [email protected]
The next casual Catch up will be discussing the SEPP, Date and Time TBC
Coming up on May 26th we have out next Latitude: Place – Led Community Engagement Masterclass with Brooke Williams, she will focus on how traditional design processes can benefit from the integration of place-based community engagement.
On this note I urge all members to keep an eye out on what your council is up in your local area. Get involved in the “Have you Say” campaigns, community consultation days where councils showcase an upcoming development and help to make NSW a better place.
Sydney Build Expo is also coming up in June -tickets are free. There are some speakers from NSW Government agencies, AECOM, HASSELL, Architectus, Arup, and Lendlease just to name a few.
I also recommend everyone go and check our Memberscape there are some really interesting topics being posted about – Memberscape is great way to connect with your peers from all over Australia, ask questions regarding products or industry standards or just general advice.
I Hope to see you all at the AILA NSW Awards Cocktail Party next Month.
