Pedestrian Safe Pavements

This webinar will guide designers of urban public areas on how to correctly integrate trench drains and service pits in pavements whilst ensuring safety,  walkability and enhancing aesthetics. Both their physical and visual requirements to the urban space will vary from project to project as will the surface level considerations of slot criteria, slip resistance, durability and access for maintenance.

The session will also feature a case study presented by Dominic Powell, Archipelago. Dominic is a highly experienced landscape architect and urban design leader with an award-winning, extensive, and proven track record in the planning, design, and delivery of complex social infrastructure. In his presentation Dominic will cover two projects - Bundaberg CBD Revitalisation and West Ashgrove Village.

Service Enclosures by ACO - including a Shield Street Cairns Case Study

This webinar will feature a case study of Shields Street Heart in Cairns from David Wilson, Principal Landscape Architect at Cairns Regional Council.  Join us for this national webinar Service enclosures - Cable pits, surface ducting and access covers presented by National Supporting Corporate Partner, ACO.

The ABC of Trench Drainage by ACO

The webinar features Carina Green, Senior Landscape Architect at City of Adelaide speaking on the Market to Riverbank link project.  The upgrade of the city's key streets created an exciting and vibrant connection between the Adelaide Central Market and Adelaide Riverbank. In this project, designers wanted to achieve a picturesque route for pedestrians and cyclists through paved footpaths, tree canopies and public art. Designers engaged an artist to develop a design inspired by the natural pattern shapes of geode mineral deposits, an acknowledgement to the evolution of the local geology of the region.

Pedestrian Safe Spaces - ACO

The webinar will feature Matt Nolan, Practice Director at Lat27 speaking on two different projects: The Plaza, Brisbane Showgrounds showcasing how heavy-duty drainage and access lids were integrated into the event space and 480 Queen St in Brisbane CBD featuring custom architectural stainless steel applications. This course empowers designers who are focused on walkability in public areas by correctly integrating surface water systems and service pits. The focus is to create successful flat drainable pavements with an appreciation of slot criteria, slip resistance, loading, durability and access for maintenance. Ideal for: Landscape Architects, Hydraulic Consultants, Architects and Contractors. A valuable webinar for anyone involved with pavement design.
