A message from Vicki Barclay, Executive Member

26 February, 2024

Hello members and I hope this new year is treating you well.

In speaking with many members and industry partners we have hit the ground running and are very optimistic about the year ahead.

AILA Qld has started strong with our annual QLD President's Planning Session & Breakfast. We had strong attendance with representation from our regional groups (AILA SUN, AILA GOLD and AILA Nth QLD), Industry Advisory members, QFresh chairs and First Nations Connection to Country Committee. It was a fantastic morning with a diverse range of ideas shared and we look forward to executing these over the coming year.

The awards submission season is upon us and I do hope that every member is reflecting on the projects delivered and can find joy in the success that each project has achieved. I look forward to seeing the award submissions and learning from the experiences and outcomes achieved by our peers. Please note the closing date of Wed 13 March (11:59pm AEDT).

There has also been some great advisory work undertaken in preparation for the local government elections on March 16. Please review our member template letter and election position statement which advocate for AILA’s vision for a Greener, Climate Resilient Future in Queensland.

Just a reminder that the Easter break is coming! For parents and caregivers, we are more than halfway through the school term (how did this happen) and I hope you have booked that getaway, enjoy the company of your family and loved ones and enjoy your playground – whatever that looks like over the coming break!

Kind regards,

Vicki Barclay - Executive Member
