The AILA Landscape Architecture Awards program provides a key vehicle for the promotion of the work of landscape architects in Australia. The Awards process demonstrates the positive impact the profession has on Australian lives through the planning and design of the built and natural environments. 

The purpose of the People’s Choice Award is to further profile and promote the awards program and Landscape Architecture projects to the public through providing the opportunity to vote on a project.  

One lucky voter will win a Great Barrier Reef Day Trip to Lady Elliot Island from Hervey Bay or Bundaberg for 2 Adults.

Important Information

Competition Terms & Conditions

  1. This competition will be run by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects AILA) in association with News Corp and Lady Elliot Island. 
  2. Voting will open at 12 noon Friday 29 April and close at 11.59pm on Sunday 29th May. 
  3. Voters can vote once (1) only for one (1) project. 
  4. Voting is open to the public, but excludes employees from entrant projects and companies associated with the People’s Choice Award (AILA, News Corp, Lady Elliot Island)
  5. Voting will be done via the AILA Awards Force platform. 
  6. Voters will need to create an account to vote and be eligible for the prize. 
  7. The project with the most votes will win the People's Choice Award. 
  8. The People’s Choice Award will be announced at the 2022 AILA QLD Landscape Architecture Awards on 16 June and in the Courier Mail at Home Magazine on Saturday 18 June.
  9. One voter will be chosen at random to win the prize. 
  10. The prize is a Great Barrier Reef Day Trip to Lady Elliot Island from Hervey Bay or Bundaberg for 2 Adults valued at $950 including 6 -7 Hours to explore the island and reef, Return 'Scenic' Air Transfers, Guided Reef Walk Tour at Low Tide (tide dependent), Combined Glass Bottom Boat /Guided Snorkel Tour, Island Tours, Buffet Lunch in the Beachfront Dining Room (hot & cold buffet), Fish Feeding in the Lagoon Fish Pool, Use of Snorkel Equipment (Mask, Snorkel & Fins), Snorkel Lesson in the Resort Pool (if required), Use of Day Guest Facilities (Shower Facilities & Towels), and Environmental Management Charge. 
  11. Specific prize conditions will be outlined on the prize gift certificate. 
  12. The winner of the prize will be drawn on Thursday 16 June once the People’s Choice Award has been announced and will be contacted by AILA

How to vote

The voting is be hosted on the AILA Awards Force website. Voters can only vote once for one project and will go in the draw to win the prize and see terms and conditions for more details around voting.
