AILA SA Executive Message

The AILA SA Executive is looking forward to the month ahead with the Awards program getting into full swing - starting with the AILA SA + NT Awards entry Reveal and Presentation to Jury on Wednesday 1 May.

This format provides the opportunity for a wide range of members and broader industry to hear project highlights and it is also a wonderful learning opportunity for Fresh members to be inspired about what their future as a landscape architect in SA holds. We are welcoming NT practices on the night to share the NT Awards entries and really look forward to broadening the scope of this event to include our colleagues in the NT.
We encourage practices to make a night of it as we showcase the 2024 entries with each practice sharing their project in our online event.

In the background we are judging our important State Based categories including Water for Life proudly supported by SA Water and the Healthy Parks Healthy People SA Award proudly supported by Green Adelaide and Preventive Health SA. These awards profile the profession across Government and Industry to promote the value of landscape architects as leaders within the built environment industry.

Heyne’s Wholesale Nursery will host our Peoples Choice Award again in 2024 so make sure you cast your vote in early May!

We are delighted by the number of entries in 2024 and look forward to celebrating with you all at the AILA SA + NT Landscape Architecture Awards Night on Friday 21 June. Tickets are now on sale with early bird prices open until 16 May.

The AILA SA Executive is also working on a number of initiatives to support the profession in 2024. We are currently updating our Advocacy Manfiesto that supports the Advocacy work of the Chapter, along with working with Built Environment Professions to promote Landscape Architecture at an upcoming Major Careers and Employment Expo in May. Our practice visit program is underway again and we would love to visit your practice to hear your feedback on how we can support you in 2024.

As always, reach out if you would like to raise any ideas with the AILA SA Executive.

Dr Janelle Arbon
AILA SA President
