Dear AILA Victoria Members,

As the holiday season approaches, we're so excited to see you at the Recognitions & End of Year Celebration next week! It's not just a celebration—it's an opportunity to come together as a community of landscape architects, reflect on our hard and amazing work throughout the year, and strengthen the bonds that make our profession so unique, all whilst dancing to the coolest DJ, Josh Parish at The Terrace, Royal Botanic Gardens. We'll also be honouring our legendary Victorian Fellows and welcoming 47 of our amazing new Registered Landscape Architects!

🎉 Party Details: Get your tickets HERE NOW before it's sold out!! Be part of an evening filled with festive cheer, great company, and the chance to unwind with your fellow landscape architects. This is your community, AILA is us and we can't wait to celebrate with you!

🌸 Spotlight on Women in Construction: As we celebrate the holidays, let's also take a moment to recognise the incredible contributions of women in the construction industry. We acknowledge the challenges they face and also acknowledge that challenges are not just for women - but as a woman in this community, I think it’s necessary to call it out and I look forward to others telling their stories. We will work with you to foster an environment of gender equity within our profession. We want to hear from you! Share your thoughts on how we can collectively promote gender equity in the construction industry. Your opinions matter, and together, we can drive positive change. Stay tuned for some social media posts or email us and talk to us at events.

🏛️ MPavilion: Before the year ends, loose yourself in the beauty of the MPAVILION installation designed by the Tadao Ando!! The latest flagship initiative of Naomi Milgrom where people and the surrounding nature become one. It's a testament to the power of design thinking, innovation and the transformative impact we can have. It is for sure an experience that will last forever in the hearts of all who visit. “The design began with a desire to create a sense of eternity within Melbourne’s garden oasis” said Tadao Ando. Checkout the MPavilion: Open Summer 2023 program for all the events!

Your AILA Chapter, the Executive Team and our amazing Victorian Committees have been hard at work, brainstorming and planning exciting initiatives for the future. Stay tuned for our comprehensive report and updates on these initiatives. Your involvement and support in these endeavours will be invaluable.

We sincerely acknowledge the achievements of our members, and looking forward to another year of working towards a more amazing, inclusive and equitable future.
