News from AILA Victoria Chapter - June 2024

Dear AILA Members,

I hope this note finds you in high spirits and warmed by the fires of creativity 🔥.

Reflecting on the AILA VIC Awards, I am filled with pride and gratitude for our vibrant community. This year, together, we have truly raised the bar, reminding me once again of the strength and inspiration that comes from the events where we gather with like-minded friends and celebrate the powerful synergy that stems from our collective efforts and shared passion. The presence of the minister, Sonya Kilkenny, and a supportive message from the Lord Mayor, Sally Capp, perfectly highlighted the growing recognition of landscape architecture, a testament to our profound impact on communities, strategies, and AILA's dedication/commitment in advocating for our profession.

Another energising event was the AILA Fresh mentorship launch—an initiative close to my heart ❤️. Witnessing the dedication and growth of the AILA Fresh committee over the past years has been my inspiration. Hats off to Tian, Ben, and all the legendary committee members, as well as the mentors and mentees who are steering our future.

Now, let’s ride this wave of collaboration and excellence! Your engagement is the engine that drives our progress. Stay connected, join and contribute as a friend of AILA, and broaden your influence within AILA and across the industry. Together, we will solve challenges and nurture a flourishing future for our noble profession and planet 🌍.

From Victoria hosting National Awards and two-day extraordinary events (Watch this space) to CPD events and the great Shop Talks, there’s a spectrum of opportunities to learn, share, and grow. Check out what’s upcoming and mark your calendars—I’m excited to see how each of you will shine and contribute to these dynamic gatherings.
